Planning ahead

Noticing a few small changes? Here’s what to do next before you need it.

A missed bill, a quieter phone call, the stairs taking a little longer. Notice without diagnosing, ask one open question and stay close. Share what you see with the people Mom trusts, with Mom deciding what’s shared.

An illustrative example

Every family notices things differently. Use this as a starting point, and talk to a navigator about what fits your family. It’s free. If something feels urgent, call Mom’s doctor or 911.

Split the little things across the Circle: the dog walker’s key, the tablet update and the closet clean-out. Nobody carries it all.

How to choose well

Questions we suggest asking any company before you say yes.

Are your staff screened and insured?
Can Mom meet them before the first visit?
What happens if someone is sick or late?
How will you share updates with the family?
What does it cost, and is there a minimum?
Can we pause or cancel easily?

Questions families ask

Something else on your mind? A navigator can talk it through with you.

A Pearl navigator
Tip from our navigators
Write down what you notice, then ask one open question, like “Anything feeling harder lately?” Noticing early simply means more time to plan together.
Talk to a navigator, it’s free
Does Mom need to use the app?

No tech skills needed. Mom can check in with one tap, or let her Circle handle the details while she stays in charge of who is in and what they see.

Can we save this plan?

Plans are coming to Pearl soon. Today you can build Mom’s Circle with our Circle builder and download your list, so everyone is ready when plans arrive.

What does it cost?

Starting a Circle is free, and the person at the centre is always free. Plus is $15 CAD a month, with a 14-day free trial.

Who can see what?

Only the people in the Circle, and only what Mom invites them to see. Trusted Providers see the steps they are part of. Passwords are never shared in Pearl unless she chooses.

Can someone help us set it up?

Yes. A Pearl navigator can help you get started and find local help. It is free, with no account needed.
