Planning ahead

Nothing urgent? Let’s get everything in one place before you need it.

Who to call first, where the documents live, bins on Tuesday and the dog walker. Start with the people around Mom, gather the details in one place and keep everyone in the loop, with Mom deciding what’s shared.

Get the neighbours involved

A neighbour can hold a spare key, bring in the bins or pop in to say hi. Share just that part of the plan, nothing more.

How to choose well

Questions we suggest asking any company before you say yes.

Are your staff screened and insured?
Can Mom meet them before the first visit?
What happens if someone is sick or late?
How will you share updates with the family?
What does it cost, and is there a minimum?
Can we pause or cancel easily?

Questions families ask

Something else on your mind? A navigator can talk it through with you.

A Pearl navigator
Tip from our navigators
Start with who to call first. Add the two or three people Mom counts on most, then fill in the rest over time. Everyone knows the plan, and nobody has to guess.
Talk to a navigator, it’s free
Does Mom need to use the app?

No tech skills needed. Mom can check in with one tap, or let her Circle handle the details while she stays in charge of who is in and what they see.

Can we save this plan?

Plans are coming to Pearl soon. Today you can build Mom’s Circle with our Circle builder and download your list, so everyone is ready when plans arrive.

What does it cost?

Starting a Circle is free, and the person at the centre is always free. Plus is $15 CAD a month, with a 14-day free trial.

Who can see what?

Only the people in the Circle, and only what Mom invites them to see. Trusted Providers see the steps they are part of. Passwords are never shared in Pearl unless she chooses.

Can someone help us set it up?

Yes. A Pearl navigator can help you get started and find local help. It is free, with no account needed.

Plan ahead together. Everyone feels in control.
